Shift assignment to employees


Administrators can assign shifts to employees for specific date ranges to manage their work schedules.

Steps to Manage Employee Shift: 

Navigate to Access > Admin > Manage Employee Shift – click Add to assign a shift or select an existing record to modify.

Set Assignment Details:

  • Employee Name *
    Select the employee to whom the shift will be assigned
  • Start Date
    Select the date from which the shift will be applicable
  • End Date
    Select the end date for the shift assignment
  • Shift *
    Select the shift to assign

Assignment Behavior:

  • The selected shift will be applied to the employee for the defined date range
  • Attendance will be calculated based on the assigned shift timings

Update/Delete Assignment:

  • Existing assignments can be modified for future dates
  • Delete the assignment to remove the shift for the selected period

Note:

  • Only active shifts will be available for selection
  • Ensure no overlapping shift assignments exist for the same employee
  • Priority Rule: Manual shift assignment overrides shift rotation.
  • Fallback Rule: If no shift or rotation is assigned, the General shift is applied by default.
  • Changes will reflect only in future attendance records
