Set up shift rotation


Administrators can configure shift rotation patterns to automatically assign shifts to employees based on defined patterns.

Steps to Manage Shift Rotation: 

Navigate to Access > Admin > Manage Shift Rotation – click Add to create a new rotation or select an existing rotation to modify.

Info Tab – Set Basic Information:

  • Rotation Name *
    Enter the name of the rotation
  • From Date / To Date
    Select the effective date range for the rotation
  • Weekly Off 1
    Enable and select the primary weekly off (e.g., Sunday)
  • Weekly Off 2
    Enable and configure alternate weekly off:
    • Select day (e.g., Saturday)
    • Select frequency (e.g., Every, Every 2nd Saturday)

Pattern Tab – Configure Rotation Pattern:

Select the rotation type based on business requirement:

Daily Pattern

  • Assign shifts for each day in the cycle (Day 1, Day 2, …)
  • Suitable for continuous rotating schedules
  • Each day can be mapped to a specific shift or left as None

Weekly Pattern

  • Assign shifts for each day of the week (Sunday to Saturday)
  • Suitable for fixed weekly schedules
  • Example:
    • Monday–Friday → General Shift
    • Saturday → None
    • Sunday → Week Off

Activate/Delete Rotation:

  • Rotation is automatically activated upon creation
  • Delete the rotation to deactivate when not required

Monthly Pattern

  • Assign shifts based on calendar dates
  • Select specific dates (supports multi-select using CTRL + Click)
  • Useful for custom or irregular shift planning

Note:

  • Only active shifts will be available for selection in patterns
  • If no shift is assigned (None), the day may be treated as:
    • No scheduled shift
  • Rotation will take effect only after assigning it to employees
  • Changes will apply to future schedules only.
